Papaya Sheera - Papaya Halwa


Rava(Semolina)- 1/2 Cup

Sugar- 1/4Cup

Water- 1 Cup

Papaya- 1 cup

Raisins & cashew nuts- Few

Ghee- 4-5 tbl sp


Grind the papaya like smoothie.

Heat 2 tbsp of ghee in pan and roast semolina in a medium flame for about 5 minutes.

Add the roasted semolina to the boiling water. Cook for 2-4 minutes. Keep on stirring.

When the rava is fully cooked; add sugar & papaya smoothie; mix well.

Cook for few more minutes. Add ghee as much as required. Keep on stirring.

Finally add raisins & cashew nuts; mix well.

When the mixture forms a single mass which does not sticky & leaves from the pan; switch off he flame.(The cooking time takes about 15-20 minutes)

Pour the mixture on a plate & serve.

  • You can add milk instead of water.
  • If you like you can add few finely chopped papaya while cooking or mix it after cooking.
  • No need to add any artificial colour. Papaya purie gives the natural colour.
  • You can cut into pieces and serve.
