Banana kottige - steamed banana rice pudding

Ingredients:

White rice- 2 cups
Ripen Banana- 4(medium sized)
Grated coconut- 2 tbl sp
Salt to taste
Banana leaves

Recipe:

Wash the rice & Soak it overnight.

Peel & chop the banana.
Grind the rice, banana, grated coconut & salt. (Do not add water while grinding. If the batter is too thick; add little amount of water.)

Slightly wilt the banana leaves using low flame; so that it will be easy to fold.

Wipe the banana leaf using a cotton cloth.

Place one ladleful of batter on banana leaf and fold all the four sides.

Steam cook for about 20-25 minutes.

Serve with spicy chutney or sambar.
