Urad dal Murukku


Rice flour- 1 cups
Urad dal powder- 2 tblsp
(Note: Roast the urad dal for about 2-4 minutes and prepare a fine powder.)
Butter- 2 tblsp
Asafoetida- small pinch
Chilly powder-1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
Sesame seeds- 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil to fry


1. Prepare a thick dough by mixing all the ingredients and adding little amount of boiling water.

2.Heat oil in a pan

3.Now press the dough using chakli maker into the hot oil and fry the chakli until light golden brown.

4. Now yummy, crispy murukku is ready to taste.

5. Let it comes to room temperature and then store in an air tight container.
