Ragi - Finger millet Murukku


Rice flour- 1/2 cups
Ragi flour (Finger millet flour)- 1/2 cup
Urad dal powder- 2 tblsp
(Note: Roast the  urad dal for about 2-4 minutes and prepare a fine powder.)
Butter- 2 tblsp
Asafoetida- small pinch
Chilly powder- 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds or Sesame seeds- 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil to fry


1. Prepare a thick dough by mixing all the ingredients and adding little amount of water.

2. Heat oil in a pan.

3. Now press the dough using chakli maker into the hot oil and fry the murukku until colour slightly changes & the bubbling of oil stops.

4. Now yummy, crispy ragi murukku is ready to taste.

5. Let it comes to room temperature and then store in an air tight container.
