Bansi Rava Idli


Bansi rava- 1 and 1/4 cup
Urad dal- 1/2 cup
Salt to taste


1. Soak the urad dal for about 4-5 hours.
2. Grind the urad dal to a smooth batter.
3. Mix the urad dal batter, bansi rava(no need to roast) and salt and required quantity of water.
Note: You can add seasoning to batter if you like.
4.The consistency should be like idli batter.
5. Keep it overnight for fermentation.
6. The next morning mix the batter well and pour the batter into the idli moulds; steam cook for about 15 minutes.
7. Let it cool for about 5 minutes and unmould.
8. Serve with chutney or sambar.
