Brinjal plain rasam- Badane kayi Bolu saru

Brinjal plain rasam- ಬದನೆ ಬೋಳು ಸಾರು 


Brinjal- 2(chopped into 1 inch cubes)
Rasam/Sambar Powder- 2 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Jaggery- grape sized
Salt to taste
Tamarind- grape sized
Green Chilly- 1 piece
Coriander Leaves(finely chopped)- few

For Tempering:

Ghee/Oil- 1-2 tsp
Mustard Seeds- 1/2 tsp
Red Chilly- 2-4 pieces
Asafoetida- small pinch
Curry Leaves- few
Garlic- 4-5


Cook the brinjal cubes with jaggery, salt, tamarind & turmeric powder in a pan with enough water in a medium flame.
When it is half cooked add rasam/sambar powder, green chilly.
When it is fully cooked; add seasoning.
Add chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot with Rice and Papad.

Note: Make sure that the water quantity is reduced from original quantity.
