Buttermilk dosa - Majjige dosa

Buttermilk dosa - Majjige dosa - ಮಜ್ಜಿಗೆ ದೋಸೆ - Sweet version

This dosa is very soft & spongy than set dosa. The taste also awesome.One of my favourite breakfast recipe.

Ingredients:

White rice- 1cup
Butter milk- 1 cup
Grated coconut- 2 tbl sp
Jaggary- ¼ cup
Turmeric powder- Small pinch(optional)
Aval/Poha- 2 tbl sp
Salt to taste

Method:

1. Soak rice in buttermilk for about 4-5 hours.

2. Grind the rice with buttermilk & other ingredients to a smooth batter; the consistency of the batter should be like dosa batter.

3. Keep the batter overnight.

4. Heat the tava and put few drops of oil or ghee & spread it by using half an onion; pour a ladleful of batter and slightly spread it (don't spread too much and don't make it thin).
5. Now buttermilk dosa is ready to serve; serve hot with any chutney, curry or sambar.

Note:

  • If you are using non stick tava don't use oil or ghee.
  • Cook the dosa only one side.
