Dates- 10-15
Milk- 1 & 1/2 cups
Thick coconut milk- 1 cup
Jaggary or sugar- ¼ - ½ cup (Adjust sweet according to your taste because dates itself sweeter. You can prepare this payasam without adding sugar or jaggary.)
Cardamom powder- ¼ tsp
Dry fruits (cashews, badam)- ¼ cup
Ghee- 1 tbl sp


Remove the seeds of the dates if present and chop them.
Soak the dates in ¼ cup milk for about ½ an hour.
Heat 1 tbl sp ghee in a pan and roast the dry fruits.

Grind it to a course paste.
Boil 2 cups milk; add sugar or jaggary & let it dissolve.

Now add dates paste. Keep on stirring and cook to boil & slightly become thick for 5- 10 minutes.
Add cardamom powder and roasted dry fruits.
