Rice dumpling/Steamed rice balls/Pundi/Akki unde:
Rice dumpling/Steamed rice balls/Pundi/Akki unde

Ingredients:

White rice- 2 cups
Boiled rice- ½ cup
Salt to taste

Method:

Soak rice for about 4-5 hours.

Grind the rice by adding required amount of water; add salt.

The consistency of the batter should be like dosa batter and it should not be too smooth.

Now heat 1-2 tsp oil in pan and pour the batter into the pan and keep on stirring(avoid sticking to bottom) in a low to medium flame until it becomes like dough.

Prepare balls out of this dough and cook in the steam for about 15-25 min just like idli.

Serve it with any sambar , chutney or with coconut oil & pickle.

Note:
  • You can add oil fried urad dall, red chilly, mustard seeds, curry leaves (Seasoning) before you pouring the rice batter into the pan.
  • You can add 2 tbl sp  grated coconut while grinding.
