Rice noodles/Ottu shavige

Rice noodles/Ottu shavige - ಅಕ್ಕಿ ಸೇಮಿಗೆ 

Ingredients:


White rice- 2 cups (or 1 cup white rice and 1 cup boiled rice)
Salt to taste

Method:


1.Soak  rice for about 4-5 hours.

2.Grind the rice into smooth paste by adding required amount of water; add salt.
3.The consistency of the batter should be like dosa batter 
4.Heat the pan;  pour the rice batter and keep on stirring(avoid sticking to bottom) in a low to medium flame until it becomes like dough.
5.Prepare balls out of this dough and cook in the steam for about 15-25 min just like idli.
6.Place these cooked rice balls in the shavige maker; press & hold the shavige evenly in the plate.
7.Serve hot with any sambar, chutney or with sweet coconut milk.

Note: You can also prepare dishes like shavige oggarane, shavige upma or shavige chitranna.
