Onion pakoda


Onion pakoda - ನೀರುಳ್ಳಿ  ಬಜೆ 

Ingredients:

Onion- 3-4
Green chilly-1
Bengal gram flour – 1/2 cup
Cumin seeds- ½ tsp
Asafoetida- One small pinch
Turmeric powder- Pinch
Salt to taste
Oil to fry

Method:

1. Chop the onion into long thin slices, finely chop the green chilly.
2. Put the sliced onion, chopped green chilly, bengal gram flour, cumin seeds, asafoetida, turmeric powder & salt in a bowl and mix it well; sprinkle little amount of water (Dont make the batter too thin).
3. Heat oil in a kadai; put 1 tbl sp of batter to make pakoda. Make 4-5 pakoda in each batch.

4. Fry until golden brown, remove and drain the excess oil on a paper.
5. Serve hot with tomato ketchup / chutney & a cup of tea and enjoy !!
