Oduppale / Odupale - ಓಡುಪ್ಪಳೆ

Ingredients:

White rice- 1 cup
Boiled rice- 1/2 cup
Salt to taste

Method:

1. Soak rice for about 4-5 hours.

2. Grind it to a smooth paste; the consistancy of the batter should be thinner than dosa batter.

3. Heat the tava (earthenware tava is good if it is not there use non stick pan); sprinkle 4-5 drops oil, pour 2 ladleful batter. Cover the lid & cook for about 4-5 minutes in a medium flame.

4. When it is cooked remove it.

5. Serve hot with ghee or coconut oil or chutney or sambar or sweet coconut milk.

(Note:To prepare sweet coconut milk; for 3 cup coconut milk add 1cup jaggary & 1/4 tsp cardamom powder. Soak the oduppale in sweet coconut milk for about 15- 30 minutes and serve.)
