Mangalore Buns

Mangalore Buns- ಬನ್ಸ್ 


Maida- 1 cup
Banana- 1
Curd- 1-2 tblsp
Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
Baking soda- small pinch
Salt to taste
Oil to fry


1. Peel the banana & mash it; mix all the ingredients to prepare a dough like that of chapathi.
2. Keep the dough for about 4-5 hours.
3. Take lemon sized dough and roll it like that of poori.
4. Heat oil in a pan; fry the buns in medium flame. While deep frying just press the buns using slotted spatula & keep inside oil for about few seconds; this helps to get puffs up.
5. Fry until golden brown, remove and drain the excess oil on a paper.
6. Serve hot with tomato ketchup or chutney or sambar & a cup of tea and enjoy !!
