Idli


Idli - ಇಡ್ಲಿ 

Ingredients:

White rice- 1 cup
Urad dal- 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Ghee or oil- 1 tsp

Method:

1. Soak rice and urad dal for overnight.
2. Grind the rice and urad dal separately. Grind the urad dal into a smooth paste and grind the rice coarsely. The consistancy of the batter should be bit thicker than dosa batter.
3. Keep the batter overnight for fermentation.
4. Add salt to taste and mix it well.
5. Grease the idli mould and fill it with idli batter.
6. Steam cook for about 15- 20 minutes.
7. Let it cool and scoop out the idli's using a greased spoon.

8. Serve the idli's with chutney or sambar.
