Khara Sev

Khara Sev - ಕಾರಕಡ್ಡಿ  


Bengal gram flour - 1 cup
Rice flour- 1/2 cup(optional)
Cumin seeds- ½ tsp
Asafoetida- One small pinch
Chilly powder- ¼ tsp
Turmeric powder- Pinch
Salt to taste
Butter/hot oil/hot ghee- 2 tblsp
Oil to fry


1. Prepare a thick smooth dough by mixing bengal gram flour, cumin seeds, asafoetida, chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt and required amount of hot water. Finally add butter/hot oil/ hot ghee and kneed it well.
2. Heat oil in a pan; take dough in chakli maker and press khara sev into the oil & fry until golden brown.
3. Let it cool o room temperature and store in an airtight container.
