Uppu neeru sole (Raw jackfruit in brine) rotti


Uppu neeru sole (Raw jackfruit in brine) rotti - ಉಪ್ಪು ನೀರು ಸೊಳೆ ರೊಟ್ಟಿ 

Ingredients:

Uppu neeru sole- 2 cups
White rice- 1 cup
Grated coconut- 1/4 cup
Onion(large sized)- 1
Green chilly- 1
Curry leaves- 1 strand
Ginger(1/4 inch sized)- 1
Ghee- 4-5 tsp
Banana leaves- 4-6

Method:


1. Take out the jackfruit from salt solution & wash with water for about 2-3 times.
2. Soak in water & keep it aside for about 2-4 hour.
3. After an hour again wash it with water for about 2-3 times.
4. Squeeze the jackfruit to remove excess of water.
5. Grind the soaked rice, jackfruit, coconut, onion, green chilly, curry leaves & ginger into a smooth thick  dough.
6. Put 1 tsp of ghee & spread it over the banana leaf.
7. Take handfull of dough & spread it over the banana leaf evenly.
8. Heat the tava; put the rotti upside down and cook for 2 minutes by covering a lid.
9. Remove the banana leaf; spread 1 tsp ghee over rotti and cook other side of the rotti by spreading a tsp of ghee.

10. Serve hot with sambar; also tastes good with ghee and jaggery.
