Upma


 Upma - ಉಪ್ಪಿಟ್ಟು 

Ingredients:

Semolina- 1 cup
Tomato- 1
Onion- 1
Green chilly- 1
Ginger- One small piece
Grated coconut- 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Sugar- 1 tsp
Water- 2&1/4 cups
Ghee- 4 tsp
Red chilly- 1
Urad dal- 1 tsp
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves- 1 strand

Method:

1. Fry the semolina by adding 1 tsp ghee and keep aside.
2. Fry the chopped onion, green chilly, ginger, tomato by adding 1 tsp ghee and keep aside.
3. Heat 2 tsp ghee in a pan and tamper with red chilly, urad dal, mustard seeds, turmeric powder, & curry leaves.
4. Add all these above ingredients, sugar, salt and cook with 2 cups of boiling water.
5. Stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
6. Cook till the mixture is almost dry.
7. Finally add 2 tsp grated coconut and mix well.
