Goli Baje/ Mangalore bajji - ಗೋಳಿಬಜೆ 

Goli baje is a popular snack of South Canara. It is also called Mangalore bajji.

Ingredients: 

Maida- 1 cup
Curd- 1/2 cup
Green chilly- 1
Ginger- One small piece
Coconut pieces
Cumin seeds- ½ tsp
Curry leaves- 1 strand
Baking soda- small pinch
Salt to taste
Sugar- 1 tsp
Oil to fry

Method:

1. Chop the green chilly, ginger, coconut, curry leaves into small pieces.
2. Mix the maida, curd, baking soda, salt & sugar to prepare batter.
3. Mix the chopped ingredients to the batter and keep it aside for about 3-4 hours.
4. Now heat oil in a pan; scoop ping pong ball sized batter and dip into oil. They puff in size.
5. Deep fry the golibaje in low to medium flame until golden brown.
6. Now tasty golibaje are ready to serve.
7. Golibaje tastes good when it served hot with coconut chutney.
